who teaches your child?

PEOPLE WHO LOVE HELPING KIDS & TEENS THRIVE

Dedicated Autism Team

Yes, we love everything about Autism and helping kids and teens with Autism.

What makes us different from other organisations is that we are all about seeing your child for who they are, not for their label/diagnosis.

Most of us are primary school or high school teachers. Between us we have over 100 years of experience of working with children with Autism.

Dedicated Autism Team

MICHAEL

"Kids with Autism are AMAZING. You just need to take the time to get to know each child."

Michael has spent two decades finding (and inventing) ways to help children to learn new social skills.

He specialises in supporting parents and equipping them with step-by-step strategies for helping their own children.

Michael has worked in school classrooms for 20 years, and he has supported about 3000 families outside of school environments.

Dedicated Autism Team

ALLYSON

"Learning should be always be fun. There's always a way to make learning new social skills an exciting experience - something to look forward to each week."

Allyson is super-experienced in designing learning programs that kids love and want to get into.

She specialises in supporting children and teens who aren't loving life yet, and re-inspiring them. Kids and teens love her and so do the parents she works for.

Dedicated Autism Team

MARTIN

"The kids learn so quickly and I love helping them to get more fun out of their friendships."

Martin is an expert at working with primary-aged students with Autism and in helping them gain new skills quickly. He is also a great 'problem-solving coach' for our teens - helping them develop independence.

He has spent over 20 years in school classrooms and will pretty much do anything he can to help parents of children with Autism.

Dedicated Autism Team

RUSANNE (RUSTY)

"Encouragement - No matter how much encouragement children are getting at home, they can always use more."

Rusanne has spent the last 12 years supporting parents and helping them get through the day-to-day challenges that life throws at them.

She finds short-cuts to equip children with steps that they can take immediately to make socialising easier.

Dedicated Autism Team

SELINA

"The kids I work with are extraordinary. All I need to do is help them see that for themselves."

Selina has spent the last 14 years building confidence in children and teenagers.

She loves to show young people with Autism the formulas for what works in social situations. She is also outstanding at helping teens and children develop better emotional regulation skills.

Dedicated Autism Team

DAVID

"Who would have thought that we could use games like this to help our quietest kids get chatting to each other and having so much fun together?"

David turns learning into a great adventure. He brings his many years of experience as an Outdoor Education Teacher to our students.

In our Minecraft Social Skills Groups, he is a role model for our teens and he is somehow able to get even the quietest of our students interacting and excited about working together.

Dedicated Autism Team

ALI

"I love that in our sessions we can model behaviour we want to see, and create opportunities for our young people to practice their social skills without fear of judgement."

Ali loves seeing young people and families achieving their goals and thriving. With almost 30 years of experience, Ali helps look after some of our more challenging scenarios and aims to bring "joy" to tough days for our team and families.

Dedicated Autism Team

MONICA

"We talk to our students like they are people, not robots. We are not here for 'curriculum' - we're here to create joyful, fun social experiences"

Monica has spent almost 3 decades helping kids thrive. She lives and breathes this work and she is a leader of future leaders.

Our kids love her so much.

Dedicated Autism Team

WILL

"Yes, that sounds fun... but I think we can make this even more fun. Teens thrive when we turn it into a game."

Will splits his time between helping in schools and helping our kids at home.  He is the 'go-to-guy' whenever there's something fun to be done.  We've never met a student who doesn't want to talk to him.

Will has lived experience, and he's as solid as a rock when he needs to be.

Dedicated Autism Team

LUCINDA

"The psychologist told us your son would never share his opinion, so I just asked him about Pokemon and Minecraft... solved!"

Your child will love Lucinda.  She teaches our older teens and young adults how to have fun with people.  Socialising can be so much fun - and her job is to show your child that people can be safe and fun to hang out with.

Dedicated Autism Team

AMANDA

"I am so delighted to give this help for our families."

Amanda has spent years in the classroom, and she knows how to get the best from kids and teens. She is one of the most positive people we know.

She has worked closely with families who have children with Autism for the last 12 years and she believes every day should be an adventure for our kids.

Dedicated Autism Team

JENNIFER

"Yesterday I made 15 phone calls to check in on some of our parents! Best day ever."

Jennifer is the one who will pick up the phone to you and see how we can help if your child is having a bit of a tough day. She's a Mum and she knows how you feel when life is going crazy for you.

She spends most of her time helping parents come up with ways to get the right support in place for their kids. Often she invents solutions that nobody has thought of before - because every family needs something that works for them.

Dedicated Autism Team

Joel

"Having a son with Autism and who is part of Amazing Skills' programs, I know the difference these programs make."

Joel has spent most of his life helping kids and teens to overcome challenges and to love life. He is determined to see young people with Autism get the help that they need to thrive, and to support their families.

Joel’s lived experience is so valuable - he joined our team soon after seeing the impact in has own family that Amazing Skills can have.

Dedicated Autism Team

SUPPORT PUPPY - We call her 'Gossie'.

"Woof."

Sometimes our kids have wobbly days where they need something a little bit light-hearted to make the session feel easier. Gossie the pup loves to jump on Zoom with us and just look cute and fluffy.

She often inspires children to go and bring their own pets to zoom sessions. It's easier for kids to emotionally regulate while they are patting a cute dog.
