Feel Like You're Hitting An Impossible Wall With Your Kids? (Here's Something For Hard Days)

A Garden Maze - Autism + Support

You know that feeling, right? There are usually 2 main reasons we feel like this.

Reason 1: We have accidentally become isolated.

It's when we don't have 2 or 3 good friends who have kids with Autism who we can have a chat with. It's when we start to feel like were the only ones going through what we are facing. Isolation steals our ability to be measured and to keep perspective in tough times. We can't let ourselves get isolated from support from others because then we are not at our best for our kids.

Reason 2: We've lost sight of the fact that we are going through a season.

It's just the season. It's a hard season, and it's a long season, but it's still just a season and it will pass. It's late winter… It comes and it goes on that comes back again and then passes. when what we are facing feels like it is permanent we start to lose hope. But we all know that there have been tough season is an fairly good seasons with our kids and whatever we are facing at the moment is probably just a season.

Solution: We need great people to hang out with.

Here's an idea… Every month about 40 parents get together on Zoom with us and we interview 5 families about what they are facing in their families and what is working for them and what is not. The result is every single one of us feels encouraged because we can see that others are facing what we are facing and others are thriving in the midst of tough seasons.
